About Emergencies: call 999

In an emergency, call 999 or 112 for an ambulance, the fire service or the police. For urgent medical problems that are not emergencies, call 111 or use NHS 111 online, which can direct you to the right service. Pharmacies can advise on minor ailments. Visitors from overseas may be charged for some NHS hospital treatment, so make sure your travel insurance includes medical cover.
