Leighton House

Leighton House was built for the painter Frederic, Lord Leighton, from the 1860s. Its centrepiece is the Arab Hall, a domed room lined with Iznik and Damascus tiles around a fountain, and upstairs is his great studio. It is run by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, which also runs nearby Sambourne House. High Street Kensington station is about fifteen minutes’ walk away. Check opening days on the website, and combine a visit with Holland Park.
