The Shard, designed by Renzo Piano and completed in 2012, is the tallest building in the United Kingdom. Its viewing galleries, near the top, look out over the whole of London, and the partly open-air skydeck is the highest public viewpoint in the city. Book a timed ticket, and choose a clear day; sunset visits are popular. London Bridge station is directly below The Shard.
