There has been a market at Leadenhall since the 14th century, and the present building, with its painted cast-iron and glass roofs, was designed by Sir Horace Jones in 1881. Today its arcades hold shops, restaurants and pubs, busy with City workers at lunchtime and after work. It has appeared in films, including Harry Potter. Bank and Monument stations are a short walk away.
