Behind King’s Cross and St Pancras stations, the old railway goods yards have been transformed since the 2000s into a new district of offices, homes, shops and public squares. Coal Drops Yard, designed by Heatherwick Studio, turned Victorian coal stores into a shopping street, and Granary Square, with its fountains, faces the Regent’s Canal. King’s Cross St Pancras station serves the area.
