North of Marylebone, the Regent’s Park and its terraces lead to leafy St John’s Wood, the canal at Little Venice and the markets of Camden.
Nash’s park
John Nash laid out the Regent’s Park and its white stucco terraces in the early 19th century; London Zoo opened on its northern edge in 1828.
St John’s Wood
St John’s Wood, a leafy residential district of villas, is home to Lord’s Cricket Ground and Abbey Road Studios.
In one walk you can see the home of cricket, the Beatles’ crossing and a Victorian canal.
The canal and Camden
The Regent’s Canal runs from Little Venice along the park to Camden Lock, whose markets draw crowds every weekend.
Our advice: take a Lord’s tour in the morning, cross the Abbey Road crossing carefully, and walk the canal from Little Venice to Camden in the afternoon.
