Tayyabs began as a small café in Whitechapel in 1972 and has grown into a huge, lively restaurant on Fieldgate Street. It is famous for its sizzling grilled lamb chops, seekh kebabs and curries. Queues are common at peak times; check the website for its drinks policy and bookings. Whitechapel and Aldgate East stations are both within a short walk.
