Start in Hampstead village, with its Georgian lanes and Burgh House, and walk up to the Heath. Cross to Kenwood House for its paintings and café, then follow the paths east past the ponds to Highgate village and The Flask pub. Finish at Highgate Cemetery on Swain’s Lane, where tours must be booked. Allow half a day, and wear sturdy shoes, as paths can be muddy.
