From Hampstead Heath or Gospel Oak station, climb Parliament Hill for the famous view over central London, then walk north past the ponds and through the woods to Kenwood House and its gardens. Return through Hampstead village for lunch. Paths are mostly unpaved, so wear sensible shoes. Allow two to three hours, and bring water and a jacket, as the hilltops can be breezy.
