Kenwood House
Rembrandt on the Heath

Kenwood House, at the top of Hampstead Heath, was remodelled by Robert Adam in the 1760s and 1770s; its library is one of his finest interiors. The Iveagh Bequest collection includes Rembrandt’s Self-Portrait with Two Circles, Vermeer’s The Guitar Player and works by Gainsborough and Turner. It is run by English Heritage, and the gardens, café and lake are lovely after a walk across the Heath.
