Sigmund Freud came to London in 1938 and lived at 20 Maresfield Gardens until his death in 1939; his daughter Anna continued to live and work here. His study is preserved as he left it, with his library, his collection of antiquities and the famous psychoanalytic couch brought from Vienna. Finchley Road station is a short walk away; check opening days online.
