Britain and the sea

About National Maritime Museum

The National Maritime Museum, part of Royal Museums Greenwich, tells the story of Britain and the sea, from exploration and trade to Nelson and the navy. It stands beside the Queen’s House, Inigo Jones’s elegant villa, at the foot of Greenwich Park. Cutty Sark DLR station, Greenwich station and Greenwich Pier are all within a short walk. Allow a couple of hours, and combine a visit with the Queen’s House next door and the climb up Greenwich Park to the Royal Observatory.
