The Golden Hinde
Drake’s galleon on the Thames

The Golden Hinde is a full-size replica of the ship in which Sir Francis Drake sailed around the world between 1577 and 1580. It sits in St Mary Overie Dock, a small dock off the Thames between Southwark Cathedral and the Clink, and visitors can explore its decks, cabins and gun deck. The ship runs family activities and events in the school holidays. London Bridge station and Borough Market are a few minutes’ walk away.
