The view from Richmond Hill

From the terrace at the top of Richmond Hill, the Thames bends through water meadows and woods towards Petersham and Twickenham, a view painted by Turner and Reynolds and protected by an Act of Parliament in 1902. Terrace Gardens slopes down from the hill to the river, and Richmond Park’s gate is a short walk further up. Richmond station is about twenty minutes’ walk, uphill. Combine it with a riverside walk from Richmond Bridge.
