The Spaniards Inn stands beside an old toll house on Spaniards Road, between Hampstead and Highgate, on the edge of the Heath near Kenwood House. Its low rooms and large garden have welcomed travellers for centuries, and it is linked in local legend to the highwayman Dick Turpin and to writers such as Keats and Dickens. Hampstead station is about twenty minutes’ walk away.
