Maison Bertaux has made cakes on Greek Street since 1871. Behind the blue-and-white awning, the counter is piled with cream cakes, fruit tarts, éclairs, croissants and scones, and the little rooms upstairs and the pavement tables make it a delightful stop for tea. Its eccentric, bohemian character is part of the appeal. Leicester Square and Tottenham Court Road are the nearest stations. Expect a queue at weekends.
