Monmouth Coffee Company began roasting in the basement of this Monmouth Street shop in the late 1970s, and it remains one of the best-loved places for coffee in London. The shop is small and wood-lined, with a few seats; most people take their coffee away or buy beans, which the staff will grind for you. A second shop sits by Borough Market. Check opening days before you go.
