Brown’s Hotel opened in 1837, founded by James Brown, a former valet, and is one of London’s oldest hotels. It is now part of Rocco Forte Hotels. Its townhouse rooms on Albemarle Street mix heritage with modern design, and the wood-panelled English Tea Room is a lovely setting for afternoon tea. Green Park station is a few minutes’ walk away, and Bond Street and the Royal Academy are close by.
