The Goring opened in 1910 and is still run by the Goring family, four generations on. It sits on a quiet street in Belgravia, a few minutes’ walk from Buckingham Palace, with a large private garden at the back. It holds a royal warrant, and its dining room and afternoon tea are traditional British at their best. Victoria station is a few minutes’ walk away. Its website lists The Dining Room, which it describes as MICHELIN-starred, the bar and afternoon tea.
