Tudor-revival landmark

Liberty was founded in 1875, and its black-and-white Tudor-revival building on Great Marlborough Street, opened in 1924, was built with timbers from two Royal Navy ships, HMS Impregnable and HMS Hindustan. Inside, galleried floors around light wells hold designer fashion, beauty, homeware and the famous Liberty print fabrics. The haberdashery and the Christmas shop are treats in themselves. Oxford Circus station is a couple of minutes’ walk away.
