John Nash’s curving street

Regent Street was laid out by John Nash in the early 19th century to link Carlton House with Regent’s Park, and its sweeping curve from Piccadilly Circus to Oxford Circus was rebuilt in the early 20th century. Today it is home to flagship stores, including Hamleys toy shop, and its Christmas lights are one of London’s seasonal sights. Liberty is just off it on Great Marlborough Street.
