Savile Row has been the heart of British bespoke tailoring since the 19th century. Its tailors cut and sew suits by hand to each client’s measurements, often over several fittings. Henry Poole & Co, at number 15, has made suits since 1806 and Gieves & Hawkes is another of the street’s historic names. Even if you are not ordering, the windows and cutting rooms visible from the street are fascinating.
