Coal Drops Yard occupies two long Victorian buildings, built in the 1850s to unload coal from the railway, beside the Regent’s Canal at King’s Cross. Heatherwick Studio stretched their roofs until they meet in the middle, and the arches below now hold independent shops, restaurants and bars. Granary Square and its fountains are next door, and King’s Cross St Pancras station is about ten minutes’ walk away.
