The Prospect of Whitby
A Thames pub in Wapping
About The Prospect of Whitby
The Prospect of Whitby, on Wapping Wall, claims to be one of the oldest riverside pubs in London, and its flagstone floors, pewter-topped bar and timber beams look the part. A terrace and first-floor windows look out over the Thames, and a replica gallows stands on the foreshore, recalling the area’s Execution Dock. Wapping station on the Overground is a short walk away.
