Start on Westminster Bridge with the Houses of Parliament behind you and follow the Queen’s Walk east along the south bank. You pass the London Eye, the Southbank Centre, the National Theatre, Tate Modern, Shakespeare’s Globe, Southwark Cathedral and Borough Market, and finish by HMS Belfast and Tower Bridge. It is about two and a half miles, flat and paved, with cafés and benches all the way; allow half a day with stops.
