About Southbank Centre

The Southbank Centre grew from the 1951 Festival of Britain, whose Royal Festival Hall still anchors it. Today the complex includes the Royal Festival Hall, the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Purcell Room and the Hayward Gallery, with concerts, dance, literature and exhibitions year-round. Its terraces, foyers and riverside are busy all day, and the skateboarders’ Undercroft is part of the scene.
